Just me doing my BEST to “live every moment” despite the chaos. . Not gonna lie, the first 4-5 weeks of this year WRECKED me...for a myriad of reasons. Some were very personal; others you most likely also witnessed & are possibly still reeling from. . Drew (my best half) made a point to get me OUT IN NATURE, which I reluctantly agreed to despite me being the one that usually “gets us outdoors!” . 🏜️Off to MOAB we went & what a difference it made! The red rocks, the opportunity to hike in fresh snow, scramble up & down boulders, fill my lungs with fresh air & work my body! . The inspiring vistas & views were nothing short of SPECTACULAR & I even tackled a small part of my fear of heights! It took some breath work & a very patient husband as well as other hikers behind us being so patient & encouraging! How great is that, kind words from strangers... my faith in HUMANITY was lifted! . We’re “Trekkies,” & a recent quote from the newest series in the Star Trek universe “Starfleet Academy” had me in TEARS as the episode wrapped up. Between this quick trip to Moab & this quote, my spirits have improved so I thought I’d share it with you. . I still have work to do & I know I’ll find my STRIDE again. For now the outdoors seem to be begging for my attention more than my kitchen, which explains the lack of new content. Self care is NOT selfish & I’m trying to learn that. . Here’s to taking CARE of ourselves & still being aware of current events. Both are possible. I am fortunate to have a partner who “sees” me & helps me out. 🪴 Aside from making & enjoying all sorts of comfort food (to better navigate the chaos)...I’m also a Hobbit at heart, love plants of all kinds & enjoy getting dirt under my nails. Spring can’t come soon enough!!! . I found myself spending far too much time “doom scrolling” today & had to release my brain from the constant “fight or flight” mode it was stuck in. . I ordered some plant babies “mail order” from Etsy & these cuties arrived in such happy condition over the weekend. I welcomed them to my home today w/ a gentle repotting & encouraging conversation. . I’m currently obsessed with all things “string of _________” ...string of turtles 🐢 ...string of pearls (variegated) 🐚 ...sting of hearts (also variegated) 💕 . not pictured, I also have a “string of frogs” & it’s adorable! 🐸 . M’kay...I thought since I was taking a breather from the doom, I’d introduce you to my new plant babies & share. .
