🍔 🍔 🍔 g/f HAMBURGER BUNS - just in time for all your holiday BBQ plans this weekend!!! Golden brown on the outside & oh so fluffy on the inside. Fire up that grill, hamburgers, sloppy joes, pulled pork or grilled fish never had it so good!

A simple variation of our GLUTEN FREE DINNER ROLL recipe (see steps below) that you will find exclusively over at @foodsocial.io - hit up the link in bio & ENJOY!

PREPARE dinner roll recipe as directed.
DIVIDE into 8 equal portions & line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silpat mat
PLACE dough balls about ¾“ apart, cover with plastic & allow to rise in a warm spot in your kitchen for approximately 20 mins.
BRUSH with egg wash, sprinkle with sesame seeds (if desired) & bake in a preheated 350° oven for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown.

What’s your favorite GRILLED veggie? With this marinade, we’d have to go with sliced sweet or red onion! It tames the flavor of the onion a bit & as those onion rings grill, you get so many caramelized spots!

WARM FUZZY FOODS + Inner Child work - a reaction I was not expecting, but am fully embracing & frankly enjoying every single bite of!
.
After some A.R.T. (accelerated response therapy) sessions recently with my therapist, I left with my thoughts spinning & a keen awareness to feed my inner child some foods from way back in the day. After my first session a month or so ago, I shared a bit via IG Stories about what I was immediately craving. Without overthinking it, I drove right to the grocery store for ingredients & “fed” that craving. It was the balm that “little Michelle” needed.
.
Was I teary while I enjoyed “relishing” my warm fuzzy childhood memories via food, you betcha & it’s perfectly ok. I’m so happy to have tissues! I have a newfound appreciation for why it’s called “COMFORT FOOD” & was so struck with how intense the feelings were.
.
Given that May is mental health awareness month, I thought it would be a great time to NORMALIZE talking about how “getting help” can make us feel & crave some eats for our “inner child” - what’s so awesome is...there are so many great options available now to not only feed that inner child, but nourish, as well, so we aren’t faced with stomach aches or sugar crashes after.
.
Enjoying a bowl of cereal with ice cold milk was my mom’s go-to for my siblings & me once the kitchen was cleaned up after dinner, but we found ourselves needing just a little something. We ALWAYS had boxes & boxes of cereal.
.
Today, I keep cereal on hand & in this case it was a bowl of @sevensundayscereal real berry variety with some local raw milk. You better believe I enjoyed a couple bowls! So delish & so soothing.
.
This is MY experience & I am in no way telling you to “eat your feelings” - what I am saying is: LISTEN close, HEAR yourself and/or your inner child, assess your NEEDS, & enjoy RESPONSIBLY within the parameters of what you know your body can tolerate.
.
Inner healing looks different for everyone, so let’s be patient & kind with OURSELVES as well as those around us.

🌺 Paleo HIBISCUS LIMEADE - a recipe that literally begged to be made after I saw some dried hibiscus flowers & wow, are you going to LOVE it! Hibiscus has such an earthy flavor to it & is similar to a cranberry & not overly flowery.
.
The base of the limeade is our new HIBISCUS SYRUP, sweetened only with honey & versatile enough to use as an ice cream topper or even your brunch waffles/pancakes. You can bet you’ll see more recipes coming soon that use it.

📸 Going old school & simply posting what I ate for lunch. It literally took all the creative energy I could muster today, to be completely transparent.

I’m a #fridgeforage wanna be like Steph of @cookbycolor & what I came up with was:
🌿 an arugula base
🌿 drizzle of dressing
🌿 purple cabbage
🌿 leftover chicken salad (from a recipe I’m testing)
🌿 green onions
🌿 chopped mac nuts
🌿 sprinkle of Furikake

🤷🏼♀️ I’m possibly in the middle of a mid-May creative slump...meh, not sure?! Either way, here’s a post for today without any asks for you to do anything, comment, tag or click on a thing. I know, I know...the algorithm gods will hate it. Whatevs...I’m just happy to have a therapy apt tomorrow!
