Found a lost handwritten recipe of my mom’s. I turned it into this. 💜

DeVona’s Cold Asian Salad is one of the most special recipes I’ve ever shared. It started with a piece of paper containing a recipe in her handwriting that I found tucked away in her BH&G Cookbook. I have no idea if she ever even made it herself, but when I saw it, I knew I had to create a better-for-you version!
Today I’m resharing this reel from last summer in her honor for Mother’s Day—it would have been her 84th birthday—along with a little heavenly message to her. 🥹
Made with top-notch ingredients & a whole lotta love, this salad is gluten-free and incredibly delicious.

💟 Chive blossom salt = the easy Spring gift era we all didn’t know we needed!🧂
So easy, so pretty & so very fun to gift!
Here’s how: Pluck individual chive blossoms off fully bloomed flowers → toss with kosher salt (1/4 cup blossoms : 1½ cups salt) → dry in a cool spot for 2-3 days, tossing once daily → jar up + tie with twine. That’s it!

Green chili enchiladas - one of my love languages. 💚🌶️
I wasn’t born in Mexico, but I was raised on Her food, taught by family members who are from there & who cooked with the love that only comes from generations of knowing. Mexican food isn’t just something I make. It’s something I was given.

And this recipe? This is that food w/ an “easy button” approach!

Easy green chili enchiladas made with my homemade sourdough flour tortillas, stuffed with melty quesadilla cheese, smothered in a quick green chili sauce (Siete Foods enchilada sauce + roasted green chilis = 🙌), & finished with cotija, crema, cilantro & a squeeze of lime.

Oh & there’s a little accordion fold technique that makes assembly SO easy!
✅ No torn tortillas
✅ No fussing
