Makenna here, with a truly special recipe addtion to our blogs. This IBD healing smoothie has served me many many times as breakfast, lunch or dinner during a Crohn’s flare. During these times it can be hard to want to eat anything due to feeling so sick. It’s so important to still work to give your body some nutrients that it so badly needs.
Speaking of nutrients, the addition of MUD\WTR in this smoothie makes it chalked full of healing power with its variety of superfood mushrooms and turmeric. I’ve found that this smoothie is simple enough that it doesn’t upset my stomach. Even at its most sensitive of times!

It tastes like a delightful treat which makes it an IBD healing smoothie that is “flare friendly” for me! To have a food like this to look forward to when I’m not feeling my best is always a bright spot in what can be a dark time. It’s something that has really helped me and I hope can help you as well.
What is MUD\WTR you may be asking. A lovely blend of organic mushrooms like chaga, reishi and lion’s mane to name a couple. Here’s a excerpt from their site: “…I wanted a more balanced approach to boosting focus and wakefulness. So, I blended cacao and masala chai with a hall of fame ingredient list: Lion’s Mane to support memory and focus, Chaga for phytonutrients, calming Reishi for immunity, Cordyceps for antioxidant properties and turmeric for inflammation. It’s 100% organic and there’s zero sugar and no sweeteners added. With just 1/7 of the caffeine in a cup of coffee those jitters are gone and you are left with calm, alert, and sharp but still able to fall asleep at night. The result: you, but superhuman.” Need I say more, it’s delicious and packed full of great ingredients!
