Two of my favorite flavors coming together in a tasty, sip-able iced latte, truly so delicious! There’s something about that dreamy purple-and-green layered look that stops you mid-scroll, and I promise the flavor lives up to the photo. The homemade Ube Superfood Powder brings gorgeous color and a subtle, nutty-vanilla sweetness, while a layer of vibrant matcha adds that earthy, café-worthy depth. Top it with a little frothy cream and you’ve got a drink that feels fancy but comes together in about five minutes, no barista required.

The Ingredients
The star here is my Homemade Ube Superfood Powder. Three clean ingredients: ube (purple yam) powder, Further Food vanilla collagen, and a kiss of am.Nicolli vanilla salt, that you’ll want to keep stashed in your pantry. For the matcha layer, I reach for Jade Leaf Barista Edition for its flavor and that knockout green. Add your milk of choice, and if you want that frothy café top, a splash of Organic Valley Lactose-Free French Vanilla Creamer does the trick (any milk or creamer works).
How to Make an Ube Matcha Latte
Whisk the ube powder with a little water into a smooth base and pour it into your glass. Add ice and your milk, then whisk the matcha separately until frothy and pour it slowly over the back of a spoon so it floats into that pretty layer. Finish with a frothed creamer dollop and a pinch of ube powder on top. Full measurements and steps are in the recipe card below.

Tips for the Prettiest Layers
- Use room-temperature water for both the ube and matcha so they whisk up smooth
- Pour the matcha slowly over the milk, the back of a spoon can help it layer instead of mix
- Don’t stir until you’re ready to sip! The layers are half the fun
Make It Your Way
Go fully dairy-free with your favorite plant milk, bump up the sweetness with a little extra monk fruit or maple, or warm it up for a cozy hot version. One note: matcha does contain caffeine (unlike ube on its own), so this one’s a lovely morning or midday pick-me-up.

- Notes
- Jade Leaf Barista Edition Matcha is highly recommended for its flavor and vibrant color. The Homemade Ube Superfood Powder (recipe linked) uses Further Food Vanilla Collagen sweetened with a touch of monk fruit — not overly sweet. The layers look stunning — don’t stir until you’re ready to drink!
